Come to our “How to Easily Create a Pollinator Garden” Event - March 21st!
Public and private pesticide-free corridors of native plants that provide nutrition and habitat for pollinating insects and birds. These pathways creates connections between private and public properties which become corridors of healthy habitat for pollinators, wildlife and human life that depend on them! Even the smallest green spaces, like flower boxes or curb strips, can be part of a pathway.
Pollinators are very limited on how far they can travel. Most native bees have a range of only 750 meters (<1/2 mile). The goal is to connect properties that are no farther apart than that. As a general rule of thumb, flower strips and nesting sites for supporting small solitary bees should be no more than 150 meters apart (Hofmann et al, 2020).

Franklin County Pollinator Pathway (FCPP) is a pollinator conservation network, working to connect people and pollinator habitat throughout Franklin County. We are a local affiliate of the national organization, Pollinator Pathway, for Franklin County, Ohio. We are a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
In 2024, we established a 501(c)(3) nonprofit so we could expand our work through public and private grant funding and bring more pollinator and native plant habitats to Franklin County. Our Board of Directors is made up of seven community members, get to know us:

After retiring from a career in dentistry, I wanted a grassroots way to improve the area where I Iive and committed to restoring pollinator habitats. I'm currently the acting President and a Board member of Franklin County Pollinator Pathway, a member of the Columbus GreenSpot Program Advisory Board, and a Xerces Society’s Central Ohio ambassador.
Michael Keeler
I've always loved interacting with nature. My fond memories of my early days camping with my family inspired me to pursue a degree in Natural Resource Management from The Ohio State University. I started Ohio Native Concepts, LLC out of the enjoyment I get educating people on native plants, pollinators and healthy ecosystems, as well as wanting to make a difference in my community.
Dan Rath
After a long and successful career in the restaurant industry, I followed my dream and started Backyard Hippies Native Landscaping, providing consultation and design services using only plants native to Ohio and neighboring states. Self-taught, I'm self educated in the field of native plants and have spent countless hours reading, attending seminars, and experimenting in my own yard.

I gleefully retired from Ohio EPA's Office of Environmental Education. I joined FCPP for the chance to hang out with a bunch of really smart people who can help me identify those mysterious plants that keep popping up in my yard!
Cathy Tiffany
I'm happily a full time hairstylist and founder of Backyard Columbus, sharing my journey on how to turn your suburban yard into a nature space and your happy place. Out of the love I have and knowledge I've gained from my own backyard, I joined FCPP to help make a difference in my community and to spread pollinator gardens throughout the city!
Tyler Dennis
I’m an Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist. In my day job, I'm an Engineering Manager leading distributed software teams, having worked in tech for over a decade. I joined FCPP to spread knowledge and to support the community in making our local environment healthier for everyone to enjoy.
