Zoning Codes For Pollinator Gardens 

Many municipalities have taken notice that residents care about pollinators and want to have pollinator gardens at home. However, sometimes municipal code standards don't align with pollinator gardens. Some residents have faced code enforcement actions for their pollinator gardens. As a result of this conflict, some municipalities have enacted new legislation and protections for pollinator gardens. We will summarize local codes below with links to more information. Please note that the pollinator garden code does NOT exempt you from the vision clearance requirements. These vision clearance requirements are to protect vehicular and pedestrian safety. Make sure to review the vision clearance guidelines and ask your zoning officer for clarification.
